⁹ He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, just as his fathers had done. He did not turn from the sins which Jeroboam son of Nebat caused Israel to commit. ¹⁰ Shallum son of Jabesh conspired against him. He struck him down in front of the people and killed him. Then he became king in his place.
